Saturday, December 30
1054 Hours- Dispatched for an automatic alarm at 1228 Livey Street. On arrival the Chief found cooking oil had dripped into the bottom of the stove pan and smoked with no fire. All units placed back in service.
1459 Hours- Rescue 25 was dispatched as the RIT on the structure box for the unassigned fire alarm at the Lackawanna Heritage Valley Center. Command on-scene was notified that a fire hydrant in the area had been opened which could have dropped the water pressure triggering the area. All companies were held at station by Command.
Thursday, December 21
1643 Hours- Dispatched for a brush fire behind the old Eureka Plant. On arrival the crews found an illegal campfire. Brush 25 handled the call.

2032 Hours- Dispatched on the structure box to 614 Cemetery Street, Mayfield as the RIT for the kitchen fire. Canceled by Command while on the response.
2143 Hours. Stations 25 and 31 were dispatched for a room full of smoke at 404-A 2nd Avenue in Jessup. On arrival Chief 31 and 25 found a piece of fiberboard covering a doorway and the door and frame on fire on the second floor of in a multi-unit, three floor apartment building. Chief 31 used a water can to extinguish the main body of fire. The E31 crew used an additional water can on the remainder of the fire while the R 25 crew vented the 2nd and 3rd floors and checked for extension with the thermal imager from R 25.The PSP Fire Marshall was called into the investigation.

0213 Hours- Stations 25 and 31 were dispatched for an MVA with unknown injuries in the 300 block of 2nd Avenue. On arrival there were two damaged vehicles and a power pole displaced with wires down from at least five residences and a garage. There was no one around the scene. A second site was found on Church Street near 3rd Avenue with a vehicle leaking fluids and debris down. Rescue 31 handled the Church Street incident and Rescue 25 took the 2nd Avenue job. Jessup PD was investigating if the incidents were related.
0920 Hours- Stations 25 and 31 were dispatched on the automatic alarm at 515 Delaware Street, Mafalda's Italian Specialties. While responding the alarm company called back stating the occupants had forgotten to turn on the exhaust hood over the work area. There was no fire. Chief 25 went in on the investigation with the first responding apparatus.
1901 Hours- Stations 25 and 31 were dispatched to the vicinity of Church and Constitution for a vehicle into the gas meter. On arrival there was a heavy odor of natural gas in the area from the shattered gas meter on the post office building. The meter had been hit by a van that then backed up and left the scene. Crews shut down the gas service at the meter valve and vented the interior of the post office that had a gas odor but no readings on the meter.

2254 Hours- Stations 20 and 22 along with Rescue 23 and Rescue 25 were dispatched to 135 6th Street in Blakely on the possible electrical fire. On arrival command determined it was an overheated circuit breaker with no fire. Rescue 25 was ordered to stage at 7th and Lackawanna before being canceled.
Thursday, December 7
2155 Hours- Stations 25 and 31 were dispatched for a report of an odor in the residence, possible sewer gas. Rescue 25, Engine 31 and Ambulance 25-9 responded along with Chief 25. The rescue crew checked the basement and first floor of the residence with the four-gas meter and nothing was found. Command returned all units after advising the homeowners to call if the smell returned.
Wednesday, November 29
0728 Hours- Stations 25 and 31 were originally dispatched for a person yelling for help in the woods near Sunnyside Dam. On arrival Chief 25 and two Blakeley PD officers went with the caller into the woods with his four wheel drive truck. At the Sunnyside Dam the Chief and officers found a female who stated she was lost since last evening in the woods. On further questioning she stated she was in a vehicle with two other girls and a male that flipped into the spillway of the first dam. Command called for additional resources Rescue 21/Quad 21, BLS 29-9/QRS 29, Dive 36 and Brush 20 for the water rescue with the Rescue 25 crew. Rescue crews accessed the vehicle and determined no one was in the vehicle. The crews then assisted the tow operator in removing the SUV from the Dam.

0945 Hours- Stations 25 and 31 were dispatched for an activated smoke alarm at 515 Delaware Street; while responding communications advised command the occupants called back and stated the alarm was activated from cooking. Rescue 25 continued in in the investigation and upon talking to the occupants all units were released by command.
Friday, November 24
1210 Hours- Stations 25 and 31 along with Ladder 20, Squad 22 and BLS 21-8 were dispatched for a smoke report at 707 Powell Avenue in Jessup. On arrival Chief 25 found a light smoke condition on Side C, Division 2. Rescue 25 on scene advanced a 1 3/4" line to the second floor for the knockdown. Ladder 20 threw a ladder to Side A along with salvage work on the first floor and the crews from Rescue 31 and Engine 31 vented the second floor. Squad 22 was the RIT at the scene and BLS 25-8 and 21-9 had the EMS sector. All units cleared at 1232 Hours.
Wednesday, November 22
1755 Hours- Stations 25 and 31 were dispatched for a child hit by a vehicle in front of Cousin's Market. Chief 25 arrived on scene to find the vehicle moved to the parking lot and the child complaining of minor leg pain sitting on the gas island. There were no fluids or debris down and the injury was minor so command canceled the rescues and provided care until arrival of the BLS unit.

2017 Hours- Rescue 25 was dispatched on the box in place of Rescue 23 on another call to Uno's Chicago Grill on Commerce Boulevard for the general fire alarm. Command received word of burnt fajitas and there was no fire. All units were placed back in service.
Thursday, November 16
1852 Hours- Rescue 25 and BLS 25-9 were dispatched as part of the Lackawanna County Technical Rescue Team Task Force 1 for a swift water rescue in Newton Township off of Bridge Lane. On arrival in staging Rescue 25 and 25-9 were sent to a vehicle accident with entrapment/injuries (2022 Hours) on Ransom Road. While responding the crews were stopped by a large debris field on Laurel Hill Road at the creek. Approximately 70 feet of roadway was covered by rocks/boulders and the roadway was impassible. The Rescue officer notified command however Engine 8-1 had made it to the scene via another route and there was no injuries on scene. The crew returned to staging and at 2205 were sent on a possible evacuation of a residence on Creek Road. Chief 8 made it to the scene via 4 wheel drive and walking and determined the occupants of the home were safe and the bridge had washed out. He advised the residents to stay there and crews would return in daylight to assist them in evacuating. The crews returned to the Station at 2345 Hours.
Tuesday, November 14
1057 Hours- Rescue 25 and 31 were dispatched along with EMS for a single vehicle MVA with injuries in front of 703 Church Street. The vehicle hit a pole before stopping upon striking a tree. One patient was removed by Ambulance 25-8 to Community Medical Center.
2333 Hours- Rescue 25 was dispatched to the intersection of Park and Walnut Streets in Area 59 with Stations 58 and 59 and 21 EMS on the structure box as the RIT. Rescue 25 and Ladder 58 were held at station by command on scene who stated the owner was having problems with the alarm system and there was no fire.
Friday, November 10
0836 Hours- Dispatched as part of the structure box to Area 20 on the automatic alarm. Command on-scene canceled all units, burnt food on stove.
2119 Hours- Placed on stand by at the station for a possible brush fire 1 mile south of Valley View on PA 247. Police on scene could not find anything and all units were put back in service.
Thursday, November 9
1650 Hours- Stations 25 and 31 were dispatched for a quad accident with injuries in the woods off of US 6 westbound on the north side. On arrival the patient was down a 20'-25' embankment in a gully. The quad had his leg pinned. Crews repelled and hiked down into the pit and extricated the victim from the overturned quad and packaged him in stokes for removal from the scene. Patient was carried up to the top of the embankment opposite from where he went over and then carried and pulled via ropes up another hill to the highway where he was put in the BLS Unit.
Tuesday, November 7
1241 Hours- Rescue 25 was dispatched as the RIT for the structure box in Area 59. Prior to responding Lt. 59-B on scene reported the occupant was testing the alarm and there was no emergency. Command canceled all units.

0800 Hours- Rescue 25 re-located to Area 23 for a cover assignment while R23 was engaged in a drill in Area 6.
Tuesday, October 31
1022 Hours- Rescue 25 was dispatched as the RIT for the structure box in Area 59. While responding command was informed the occupant was testing the alarm and had notified the alarm company not to dispatch the alarm. Command canceled all units.
1630 Hours- Stations 25 and 31 were dispatched for a truck into a pole with injuries. On arrival both occupants were out of the vehicle with minor lacerations. A small amount of fluids was down that was handled by R 31. This is the 130th alarm for Station 25.

0201 Hours- Stations 25 and 31 were dispatched to assist the JPD with lighting at the scene of a non-injury accident, vehicle into the ditch at Church Street and Delaware Street. Rescue 31 responded.
Wednesday, October 25
1039 Hours- Rescue 25 was dispatched as the RIT for the structure box in Area 59. Command on arrival reported a house filled with smoke and requested the RIT stage at Lackawanna and Pine. Rescue 25 was returned when it was determined it was only an overheated boiler.

1937 Hours- Stations 25 and 31 were dispatched for a large tree in the roadway at the request of the PD. Chief 25-B went to the scene and found only debris in the roadway, not a tree. He canceled all units.
Friday, October 20
2129 Hours- Stations 25 and 31 were dispatched for a fireball in the roadway on Mid-Valley Drive near the Sportsdome. On arrival crews found a burned area with a gas smell on Mellow Drive between the Sportsdome and MTL.

1240 Hours- Assist to Area 23 in place of Rescue 23 on a waterflow alarm at 1150 Commerce Boulevard in Dickson City. Rescue 25 was canceled by Command while approaching Blakely Corners and returned to service.
Saturday, October 14
0227 Hours- Rescues 25 and 31 along with BLS 25-8 and 25-9 were dispatched to the 900 block of Constitution Avenue for a single vehicle MVA car into utility pole with entrapment and injuries. The crews displaced the passenger door and removed both patient who were then transported to CMC.
1121 Hours- Rescues 25 and 31 were dispatched with BLS 25-8 and 25-9 for a multi-vehicle MVA with injuries. On arrival found one occupied vehicle and two parked vehicles that were hit. Rescue stabilized the vehicle and extricated the driver and turned her over to EMS for treatment and transport.
2116 Hours- Brush 25 was dispatched for a large brush fire 1000 yards off of Sunnyside Road. While responding Chief 31 on scene reported a tractor with attached tanker was fully involved. Also, an excavator 70 feet away was burning along with a pool of diesel. Utilized a 1 3/4" line and dry chemical extinguisher for extinguishment.
Wednesday, October 4
1700 Hours- Stations 25 and 31 along with Ladder 20 and Engine 22 along with EMS 21-9 were dispatched on the automatic fire alarm structure box. While crews were assembling the alarm company called back with the cancellation. Chief 25 continued on the investigation. Workers did not turn on the vent over the steam table which set off the alarm. This is the 120th non-EMS call for the year for Station 25.
Saturday, September 30
1722 Hours- Dispatched for a furnace malfunction at 910 Church Street. On arrival Chief 25 found the boiler had cracked releasing steam in the basement and to the first floor. Rescue 25 used a smoke ejector to clear the steam on the first floor.

1743 Hours- Stations 25 and 31 were dispatched to the 100 block of Hill Street for an unknown type fire in the wooded area. On arrival the crews could not find anything and the call was listed as unfounded.
Friday, September 22
1642 Hours- Dispatched in place of R 27 already on a call to 16 Keystone Park, Nivert Metal on an automatic alarm. No fire was found and R 25 was canceled while on the way.
Monday, September 11
0938 Hours- Stations 25 and 31 along with the remainder of the structural box were dispatched for a general fire alarm at Mafalda's Italian Specialties. While responding the alarm company called back that this was a false alarm. Rescue 25 responded on the investigation and all other units were placed back in service.
Saturday, September 9
1511 Hours- Stations 25 and 31 were dispatched to an MVA at High Street and Winton Road. Chief 25 on-scene found a pick-up truck being worked on had slipped off ramps and rolled down the driveway hitting a parked motor home. The person working on the truck was knocked to the ground by the truck and hit his head. There were no debris or fluids down. Command canceled the rescues and requested ALS for a head injury.
2001 Hours- Rescue 25 was dispatched on the automatic alarm structure box to area 23 while Rescue 23 was out of service. Command 23 on-scene stated a burnt bagel on the stove had set off the alarm and he canceled all units.

0959 Hours- Stations 25 and 31 along with Ladder 20, Engine 22 and 21-9 were dispatched to the automatic heat detector alarm at 515 Delaware Street. Chief 25-B on scene was informed an newly installed steam table had set of the detector and there was no fire. All units were canceled by Command.
1010 Hours- While returning from the previous call Rescue 25 went to assist the Jessup PD on a possible forced entry for a welfare check. Prior to arrival the PD made entry with the landlord.
Tuesday, September 5
The automatic structure alarm box was hit for 1264 Mid-Valley Drive at Scranton Cooperage. While on the way the alarm company called back with the report of a false trip. Rescue 25 continued in on the investigation and all other units went available by orders of Command.
Saturday, September 2
1331 Hours- Stations 25 and 31 were dispatched for a tree on the road at New Street near Hilltop Drive. On arrival nothing was found. Chief 31 asked communications for the call back number. On contacting the caller she stated the tree was between Hill and Dolph Streets on New Park Street. The crew from Brush 25 cut up the tree with a chain saw and removed it from the roadway.
Friday, September 1
1907 Hours- Station 25 and 31 were dispatched to a one-vehicle MVA on US 6 westbound before Exit 3. On arrival Chief 25 notified all units the call was past the on-ramp westbound and all units were to take the ramp towards Olyphant to access the scene. The driver was outside the vehicle on the ground complaining of head pain. The rescue crew assessed the patient and packaged him while waiting for the BLS/ALS unit arrival.

0717 Hours- Rescue 25 was special called on the move-up to Rescue 27's station for a stand-by while they operated on a two alarm fire in Area 6.
Wednesday, August 23
1917 Hours- Station 25 was dispatched on the Structure Box in Area 59 as the RIT for an automatic fire alarm at 1300 Plank Road, Mayfield at the Lackawanna Heritage Valley Authority building. Command 59 on scene found nothing and had all units continue in at a reduced rate and he placed R25 back in service.
Tuesday, August 22
1656 Hours- Stations 25 and 31 were dispatched for a smell of gas in the residence. On arrival an overheated light dimmer switch was found. The circuit was turned off and the switch removed from the wall. The area was checked with the Thermal Imaging Camera from R25 and no extension was found.
Monday, August 21
1512 Hours- Dispatched on structure box for Area 20 on automatic alarm. Command on scene stated nothing showing and held 25 and 31units at station.
Friday, August 18
1458 Hours- Stations 25 and 31 along with Ladder 20 , Engine 22 and 21 EMS were dispatched on the structure box to 108 Front Street for a report of mulch on fire under the porch. On arrival a small area of mulch near the porch had burned. The fire was extinguished with a water can.
Thursday, August 3
1514 Hours- Rescue 25 was dispatched in place of R23 which was on another call to the Texas Roadhouse, 4011 Commerce Boulevard for a fire alarm. Prior to R 25 responding the alarm company called and stated a fire on the grill had set off smoke alarms. There was no uncontrolled fire. Command on scene returned all units except Engine 2.
Wednesday, August 2
0642 Hours- Stations 20, 22, E 31 and R 25 along with EMS were dispatched for a fire on the second floor of 110 Terrace Drive in Peckville. On arrival command reported a candle had ignited a trash basket and set fire to items on the wall. The fire was out on arrival of command but a smoke condition was encountered. Command requested all units in at a reduced rate while an investigation for hot spots with the thermal imager was conducted. No extension was found.
1221 Hours- Stations 25 and 31 were dispatched for a report of power wires on the pole in front of 403 Church Street on Fire. On arrival there was no fire and PPL was notified of the situation.
Monday, July 31
1305 Hours- Engine 25 was dispatched on the structural box for a pull station at Outlook Pointe along with Stations 20, 22 and Engine 31. Command on-scene stated a patient pulled the alarm; there was no fire and all units were returned to service. This is the 100th incident for Station 25 in 2006.
Saturday, July 29
0902 Hours- Stations 25 and 31 along with EMS were requested by the PD to check out a male from an accident with a bump on the head. EMS and rescue packaged the patient and took him to Mid-Valley Hospital.
Saturday, July 22
1806 Hours- Station 25 EMS was dispatched to a single vehicle MVA between Exits 3 and 4 of US 6 eastbound. Rescue was dispatched later and upon arrival the operator was out of the vehicle which had hit the right hand guiderail and crossed both lanes into the median. The operator refused EMS care and there was no debris on the roadway so all units went back in service.
Thursday, July 20
1636 Hours- Rescue 25 responded with Engine 31, Squad 22 and Ladder 20 along with EMS for a working structure fire at 733 Union Street. The fire was at the intersection with Ontario Street in a thick stand of pine trees and brush at the abandoned house. The structure was not involved. The fire was extinguished with two 1 3/4" lines. Rescue 25 provided water supply from the intersection of Union and Delaware.

1017 Hours- Station 25 was dispatched along with Stations 20, 22 and 31 on the fire alarm at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in Peckville. Chief 20 canceled all units prior to arrival for a false alarm.
Monday, July 17
0024 Hours- Stations 25 and 31 along with EMS and LA 4 were dispatched for a head-on MVA in the 900 block of Constitution Avenue. Operator of one vehicle was ambulatory at the scene and the other operator was trapped by the gas pedal. Crews freed his leg and fully packaged him for transport by EMS to Community Medical Center.

2016 Hours- Stations 25and 31 were dispatched for a car fire at 806 Hill Street. On arrival Chief 25 reported a working engine compartment fire in the 100 block of Powell Avenue. Rescue 25 hit the fire with a 1 3/4" line for knockdown after use of a watercan by Chief 31. The engine compartment was destroyed.
Friday, July 14
1851 Hours- Stations 25 and 31 were dispatched to a CO Detector activation at 102 Powell Avenue with no symptoms on scene. Chief 31 arrived and held Rescue 31 at Station. Rescue 25 responded non-emergent and Ambulance 25-8 held at station. The rescue crew investigated the scene with the CO meter and the 4-gas meter. The owners had a digital Kidde detector and it showed a peak reading of 279 ppm. On investigation the crew found a hot water heater without a power vent and due to the high humidity and high temperatures it appears the heater could not pull a draft. The FD advised the homeowners to install a power vent.
Sunday, July 9
1501 Hours- Stations 25 and 31 were dispatched on the investigation for a shrub outside a residence on fire at 710 Powell Avenue in Jessup. On arrival the FD found the homeowner had extinguished the fire in mulch and a shrub outside the residence. An Instamatic Solar Powered Light overheated and set the much on fire. All units were returned prior to arrival at the scene.
Friday, July 7
0433 Hours- Rescue 25 dispatched on the structure box- fire alarm activation for 424 Third Street in Blakely with Stations 20 and 22 and Rescue 23. Chief 22A on scene found nothing showing from the exterior and held all units at station. On the investigation he found a bad battery in the alarm and returned all units to service.
1911 Hours- Stations 25 and 31 along with EMS were dispatched for a two vehicle MVA at the intersection of Church Street and First Avenue. Both vehicle had minor front end damage. The operator and passenger of the first vehicle refused EMS and the operator of the second vehicle complained of back pain and was transported by EMS to Mid-Valley Hospital.

2112 Hours- Stations 25 and 31 were dispatched to 1225 Mid Valley Drive to Fastenall for a water flow alarm. While on the way the facility called that a sprinkler head had been hit by a fork lift. The Station 25 crew capped the head and restored the system to service.

1448 Hours- Rescue 25 was dispatched as the RIT for 1311 Lackawanna Avenue in Mayfield, West Lake United for the water flow alarm. LT 59 on scene had nothing showing and held Rescue 25 at station.
Sunday, July 2
0007 Hours- Stations 25 and 31 were dispatched to a three vehicle and a house MVA at Meylert Street. The operator hit the parked cars and displaced a beam on the structure. There were no injuries and the Rescue 25 crew assisted the homeowner in securing the porch.
0917 Hours- Rescue 25 and 31 were dispatched to assist the Jessup PD on gaining entry to a residence on Constitution Avenue for a welfare check. Prior to leaving the station the PD made entry.
1408 Hours- Crews were dispatched to an MVA at the intersection of Sturgis and Delaware Streets with injuries. Crews assisted with BLS care of victims and patient packaging.
1714 Hours- Stations 25 and 31 were dispatched to stand-by at Decker's Bridge while Area 21 worked on a female in the Lackawanna River holding onto a pole at Gilmartin Street. At the request of Command Rescue 25 went to the incident scene while Engine 25 and Brush 25 set up safety lines at the Winton Bridge in the event the victim or a rescuer slipped and sent downstream.

2146 Hours- Rescue 25 was special called to a structure fire in Area 15 at the Blue Shutters Inn along PA 435. The crew was assigned the RIT.

0108 Hours- Rescue 25 was dispatched on the second alarm to 4020 Commerce Boulevard, Dickson City for a structure fire at the Texas Roadhouse. Rescue 25 was assigned to the RIT and sent to the rear of the structure. A neon sign started a fire that worked into the walls of the structure.
Wednesday, June 28
0146 Hours- Crews were dispatched to 9 River Street, Winton for basement flooding. The river was rising again.
0316 Hours- Crews were re-dispatched for a stand-by for a possible evacuation of the Winton Area. The water level stabilized and evacuation was not needed, however the crews would be out for the next 15 hours pumping basements.
1637 Hours- Rescue 25 and 31 along with BLS 25-8 and 25-9 were dispatched for a motorcycle vs. SUV crash on PA 247, Moosic Lake Road. On arrival crews found the operator of the motorcycle on the roadway severely injured. The operator of the SUV was in the vehicle. Crews assisted with BLS care of both patients until arrival of BLS units. A minute after the dispatch BLS 25-8 was re-routed to another BLS call and BLS 29-9 was dispatched to transport the SUV operator.
2139 Hours- BT 25 was dispatched to 320 Church Street for 3 to 4 feet of water in the basement. Crews used a sump and two gas pumps to dewater the basement.
Tuesday, June 27
0905 Hours- Stations 25 and 31 along with all county departments began to be dispatched for reports of flooding and possible evacuations along the Lackawanna River and tributaries. The crews were active pumping basements and re-routing traffic.
1110 Hours- All county crews were re-dispatched as conditions worsened. The crews continued to pump basements were appropriate.
Monday, June 26
1215 Hours- Rescue 25 was dispatched on the cross response structure box with Stations 20 and 22, Rescue 23 and 22 EMS to 225 Main Street for an activated fire alarm on the second floor. Chief 22B on scene reported nothing showing from the outside and held all units except for Squad 22 at station. The alarm was faulty.
1252 Hours- Engine 25 was dispatched with Stations 20 and 22 and Engine 31 and 22 EMS for a general fire alarm at the Valley Community Library, 739 River Street in Peckville. Lieutenant 22 on scene reported nothing showing from the exterior and requested all units be put back into service after the investigation.
1520 Hours- Rescue 25 along with Rescue 23 was dispatched with Stations 20 and 22 and EMS 22 for the smoke alarm activation at 200 2nd Street in Blakely. Squad 22 and Chief 22A on scene found nothing showing from the exterior. Command requested all units hold at station with the exception of Ladder 20 and Squad 22. Faulty alarms were discovered in the residence. This is the 75th incident for Station 25 in 2006.
Sunday, June 25
2021 Hours- While on the previous call Engine 25 and Brush 25 were re-routed to 805 Church Street for a flooded basement. On arrival crews found 4 to 5 inches of water in the basement; they opened the floor drain and the water receded. From here crews were dispatched to Delaware Street to open debris clogged grates on the storm water ditches.
2017 Hours- Stations 25 and 31 were dispatched to a car stranded in high water on Hill Street with two occupants. On arrival Chief 25 found the occupants had self-extricated and water was at the window ledge. Crews opened the storm drain and the water receded.
0049 Hours- Stations 25 and 31 were dispatched for a vehicle rollover, possible entrapment with numerous occupants in the vehicle. Chief 31 on scene reported only one occupant who was out of vehicle and ALS was not needed. The driver refused EMS treatment and Rescue 25 and Ambulance 25-9 went back in service. Rescue 31 waited for the tow to remove vehicle.
Friday, June 23
0227 Hours- Rescues 25 and 31 along with BLS 25-8 and 25-9 were dispatched to US 6 eastbound in the area of Exit 3 for a car in the median with injuries. Jessup PD arrived on scene and advised all units the accident was westbound approximately 1 mile east of Exit 3 on the right shoulder. The car went under the guiderail and was hung up on one of the posts. 1921 Hours- Brush 25 was dispatched as part of a special call for Station 6 for a large tire fire at the De Naples Auto Parts complex. Brush 25 was assigned to staging for a possible response if the tire fire spread into the adjacent woodlands. The fire was contained to the piles and Brush 25 assisted with tanker fills.

915 Hours- Station 25 assisted with safety along the Lackawanna River for the Annual Canoe-a-thon. Rescue 25 and Ambulance 25-8 were staged at the Winton and Decker's Bridges.
1917 Hours- Stations 25 and 31 were dispatched to a possible structure fire in the 400 block of 3rd Avenue. On arrival, Chief 25 found a heavy smoke condition from Division 2, Side A of 554 3rd Avenue. Engine 31 took the first line into the front door and advanced to the second floor with a heavy fire condition. Chief 25 requested Ladder 20 for roof ventilation and Squad 22 for RIT. Rescue 25 laddered Side B and began the vent of that portion of the peaked roof. Ladder 20 vented the peaked roof over the D side that was separate from the other peaked roof of the structure. Rescue 31 and Engine 25 established water supplies from the hydrants in White's Court and at St. Mary's Church. As the incident progressed Command had Engine 29 originally assigned to cover Station 25 to the scene to assume RIT and Squad 22's crew was put to work on overhaul.

1756 Hours- Rescue 25 and Ambulance 25-8 responded as part of the Lackawanna County Rescue Task Force 1 to Newton Township for an overturned tractor-trailer with the load of patio stone pinning the driver in the cab. Ambulance 25-8 was assigned to the RIT (Ladder 93) and Rescue 25 was a resource rescue. The crew was used in the clean-up and remediation phase of the operation.

1415 Hours- Stations 25 and 31 were dispatched for a possible brush fire in the Valley View Business Park off of PA 247. Brush 25 found approximately 1/2 acre burning and Lima 40 on-scene. A construction crew in the area assisted with a dirt line placement and Brush 25 and Lima 40 extinguished the fire.

1330 Hours- Stations 25 and 31 with Ladder 20, Engine 22 and EMS 21 were dispatched for an automatic alarm at the Pa Regional Tissue Bank on Mid-Valley Drive. Chief 31-A on scene was informed it was a false trip by staff and he placed all units back in service.

1548 Hours- Station 25 was dispatched for a report of a brush fire across from the new CommCenter construction on PA 247. Smoke was from a fire between I-84 and Marshwood Road and units requested to assist on that fire. Originally assigned to stand-by on Marshwood Road. Then re-assigned to PPL pole lines with Brush 25 and to Exit 2 of US 6 with Engine 25 for another large fire. Engine 25 then assigned to lighting with Command 35 on Marshwood Road. Chief 25 had Exit 2 command and then Exit 2 staging and Brush 25 was assigned to Twin Lakes (PPL lines) fire.

1240 Hours- Dispatched with Stations 20/22/31 on the automatic alarm at the Blakely High-Rise. Command on-scene reported a pot on the stove and had all units enroute reduce rate and held all other units at station.

1055 Hours- Cross-response with Stations 20, 22 and 31 for a fire alarm at the Lackawanna County Health Care Facility, 108 Terrace Drive. All companies except Ladder 20 were held at station by command; there was no fire.
1556 Hours- Station 25 was dispatched on the structure box with Ladder 20, Engines 22 and 31 for a report of smoke in the basement at 100 Keystone Avenue in Peckville. On arrival Rescue 25 and Ladder 20 encountered a light smoke condition. On making entry with 2 1 3/4" lines the companies experienced heavy fire and heat on Side D. The crews advanced to the basement and extinguished the fire. Squad 22, Engine 20, Rescue 36 (FAST) were also on the call. Engine 26-1 re-located to Station 20 and Engine 29 re-located to Station 25 for coverage.

1911 Hours- Dispatched to the area of Pump House Road and Sunnyside Road for a smoke report. On arrival a quad rider informed the units the fire was about a mile in along the pole lines. Brush 25 extinguished the rubbish fire.

0917 Hours- Dispatched on the structure box as the RIT to 432 Hudson Street in Mayfield. Captain 59 on-scene stated there was a small electrical fire in the stove. The fire was extinguished and the unit was removed from the residence. All units not on the scene were canceled by Command 59.

1824 Hours- Dispatched for a possible assist to 25 EMS with a patient in a wooded area off of 309 Delaware Street. The EMS crew arrived on-scene 40 yards down the path behind the former Eureka Plant 30 feet into the woods and found the patient had expired. PD was already on-scene and the coroner was notified.

0130 Hours- Dispatched to the Lackawanna River at Hill Street to assist Jessup PD on a search of the river for a possible subject in the water. Stations 20, 25 and 31 searched both sides of the river bank between Bridge Street and Hill Street; nothing was found.
1921 Hours- Dispatched for a pick-up truck on its side on Sunnyside Road. Arrived on scene no one was in the vehicle, no fluids down and no other hazards. Turned the scene back over to PD to wait for the tow and placed all units back in service. This is the 50th call for the year.

1746 Hours- Stations 25 and 31 were dispatched to a motorcycle vs. car MVA. Arrived on scene to find a motorcycle on the ground rear-ended by a car. Both operators were outside of the vehicle on arrival. One operator requested transport by EMS to a medical facility.
1944 Hours- Stations 25 and 31 were dispatched for a motorcycle accident on Sunnyside Road. On arrival found a motorcycle on its side with the operator about 10 feet away. Assisted EMS with patient packaging and motorcycle removal and scene cleanup.

2027 Hours- Stations 25 and 31 were dispatched for a gazebo on fire. Arrived on-scene to find ornamental grass along gazebo on fire. The neighbor extinguished the fire with a garden hose.

Used two tanks of water from Brush 25 and one load from Brush 26 for overhaul.

Chief 25-B on scene found construction debris on fire at 600 Third Avenue at a home under construction. Contractor was cited by the PD for an illegal open burn. Rescue 25 extinguished the fire with a trash line.
1518 Hours- Stations 25 and 31 were dispatched on a van over the embankment at 1355 Mellow Drive with people inside. On arrival found the van straddling the entrance embankment with three occupants outside. No entrapment or injuries. Chief 31 on scene canceled the rescues.
Thursday, February 9
1641 Hours- Dispatched on a structure fire report on First Avenue. Chief 31 on-scene reported smoke showing and possible entrapment. Chief 25/Rescue 25 arrived on scene and crew advanced an 1 3/4" line through front door while other crews vented windows on Sides A and D. All occupants were accounted for and fire was held to the bedroom of origin on Division 2, Side C/D destroying the bed and clothing in the room. Units were out for about one hour. Rescue 25 advanced the line and laddered Division 2, Rescue 31 was water supply and outside vent, Ladder 20 used ground ladders to access the roof and Squad 22 was the RIT. Engine 31, Ambulance 25-8 and 25-9 along with a Lackawanna Ambulance Medic Unit also responded. Chief 25 had the Command with Chief 31 and Chief 25-B on interior sectors and Chief 20 on the roof sector. Chief 22 had RIT command.

0828 Hours- Rescue and EMS dispatched for a possible hand amputation at Fabcor on Mid-Valley Drive. On arrival found the patient had self-extricated from a press and had crushed two fingers and amputated two others. Assisted EMS with packaging and transfer to litter.
1150 Hours- Automatic alarm at Mid-Valley Hospital. Command on-scene informed dust from workers set off smoke detectors, no fire. All units put back in service by Chief 20.

Chief 25 on scene requested ALS and an additional BLS for patient transports and refusals. BLS 21-9 and LA 10 were dispatched. Driver of one vehicle transported to CMC and the passenger of the second vehicle was transported to Moses Taylor. The driver of the second vehicle refused care.

1654 Hours- Stations 25, 31 and Ladder 20, Engine 22 and BLS 21-9 were dispatched to a report of a water flow alarm at Lockheed Martin, Riser 5. Arrived on scene and found water flowing through the Riser 4 overflow and water flowing through Riser 5. Checked the rear warehouse and found a leak from the system. Shut down both risers and notified security to notify the alarm company, building maintenance and the sprinkler company the system was shut down. This is the 166 response for the year surpassing 1999 with 165 calls to move into the third busies year for the company.
0203 Hours- Stations 25 and 31 were dispatched for a smell of natural gas outside of 510 Church Street. On arrival smell of gas in area. PG Energy arrived and found a bad regulator at 510 Church Street and a leak at the packing nuts at 512 Church Street.

0425 Hours- Stations 25 and 31 were dispatched to a single vehicle MVA with an unconscious male. Arrived on-scene to find driver had driven off the road and was stuck in the ditch so he decided to sleep in the car. Driver signed EMS AMA and was released to PSP.
1105 Hours- Rescue 25 dispatched as RIT on structure box in Area 59 to 1300 Plank Road in Mayfield for automatic alarm. Held at scene by command, child pulled alarm.
2126 Hours- Stations 25 and 31 were dispatched to a two vehicle MVA at the corner of Bridge Street and Constitution Avenue. One minor injury on scene sitting in JPD car. Patient signed AMA and released to PD. All units put in service.

2034 Hours- Rescue 25 dispatched in place of R 27 that was on another call to an automatic alarm at 16 Keystone Industrial Park at Nivert Metals. Command on-scene returned all units; painters set off alarm with fumes, no fire.

1746 Hours- Stations 25 and 31 were dispatched for an automatic alarm at 12100 Mid-Valley Drive, Dempsey Textiles. The company has only been in the building for three days and they are not fully functional. After an investigation plant personnel and firefighters could not determine the reason for the false activation. The alarm was reset and the companies were placed back in service. As the facility is new an informal walk-through was conducted. A formal session will be held when the facility is operational. This is the 157th call for the year.

Chief 25 on-scene found a pick-up truck had shattered a power pole and then hit a tree just short of the residence at 930 Constitution Avenue. No driver/occupants were around the vehicle. PPL notified of destroyed pole and low hanging wires in the area. Rescue 25 and Ambulances 25-8 and 25-9 waited till vehicle was removed from the scene.

1119 Hours- Dispatched for a report of an oil smell in the basement of 105 McDermott Street. Fuel supplier had overfilled the tank on the previous day and cleaned up the spill. The odor had concentrated overnight. Used smoke ejector to vent the smell.
1714 Hours- Dispatched for a brush/trash fire off of PA 247 near Alberigi Drive. Used BT 25 water to extinguish the fire.

1305 Hours- Dispatched on the Special Call/2nd alarm with Stations 20 and 22 for a working structure fire at 408 Cemetery Street, Peckville. A two-car garage, single family two-story residence and industrial building were involved. Rescue 25 was assigned RIT and Division 2, Exposure B
Friday, November 18
1601 Hours- Station 25 dispatched along with Stations 20, 22 and 31 for a smoke alarm activation at 330 Hill Street, Peckville in the basement. Command 20 on-scene reported a plumber working in the basement set off alarm.

1446 Hours- Dispatched for black smoke along the pole lines off of Breaker Street. Chief 25-B reported someone was burning the insulation of off copper wire. Brush 25 responded non-emergent to scene.

1716 Hours- Stations 25 and 31 were dispatched for a possible brush fire during a rain storm. Command on scene found a hunting hut across Grassy Island Creek from Sunnyside Road fully involved./ Brush 25 used a 1" line for extinguishment.

1405 Hours- Dispatched for car versus motorcycle near Cousin's Market. Motorcycle hit curb on Decker's Bridge with on injury. No other vehicles involved.

0904 Hours- Dispatched in place of R 23 to 1114 South Valley Avenue, Throop on the structure box. All units canceled by command, nothing found in the area.
Wednesday, November 9
1801 Hours- Dispatched with EMS to 532 Third Avenue to force entry to a bathroom in the residence. Occupant had fallen on the inside of the door and could not move. Entered through window and took the hinges off the door.
1833 Hours- Dispatched on the Structure Box to Area 59 at 609 Pine Street, Mayfield for alarm sounding. Canceled by command prior to leaving the station.
Tuesday, November 8
1555 Hours- Stations 25, 31 20, 22 and EMS 21 were dispatched for a working structure fire at 101 Church Street, the former Eureka Printing Plant. Jessup PD reported heavy fire at the rear of the structure. The building is undergoing demolition and the contractor was using a cutting torch on the second floor. Sparks ignited a large pile of debris on the first floor. Chief 25 notified communications of an area of 40 X 60 on Side B involved in fire. Captain 25 informed command of extension to the second floor. Rescue 25s crew advanced a 2 1/2" inch line to Side B while Engine 31s crew entered a loading dock on Side A. L20 and E 22 advanced a 1 3/4" line from Side A to Division 2 via a ground ladder. Engine 26-4 was special called as the RIT. EMS 21-8 and 21-9 assisted EMS 25-8 and 25-9 at the scene while EMS 29-9 covered the Borough. The demolition crew used their excavator to remove debris to allow the FD to extinguish the fire.
Sunday, November 6
2313 Hours- Dispatched to previous location for smoke coming from the garage. Command on-scene could find nothing in the area. All units placed back in service.
1725 Hours- Dispatched on structure box to224 Second Street, Blakely. Canceled by command while enroute.
Saturday, November 5
0408 Hours- Trash and brush fire along Sunnyside Road. Fire extinguished by Brush 25.
1729 Hours- Dispatched on the box with Stations 20, 22 and 23 for a possible chimney fire. Assigned as RIT by command. Command released R 25 after determining a furnace problem with no extension.
Tuesday, November 1
1454 Hours- Dispatched to a report of a grass fire along the Heritage Valley Trail off of River Street. Arrived on-scene and a small area approximately 30' X 100' burning. Used the water from Brush 25 for extinguishment.

0941 Hours- Dispatched as RIT to Area 59 on Structure Box for 606 Poplar Street, Mayfield with smoke in the residence. Canceled while on the way by 59 Command.
Saturday, October 22
1112 Hours- Water flow alarm from Riser 5 at Lockheed Martin. Arrived on-scene to find valve at main control area leaking. Shut down system and advised owner to have system repaired.
1925 Hours- Water flow alarm from Riser 4 at Lockheed Martin. Shut down Riser 4 and advised owner to have system inspected.
Friday, October 14
1517 Hours- Dispatched for MVA, possible vehicle on fire. Chief 25-A on scene reported no fire, entrapment or fluids down. Two minor injuries handled by BLS.
Wednesday, October 12
1805 Hours- Dispatched on the box as RIT in Area 59 with Stations 59, 58 and EMS 21 for smoke in the church building. While responding ordered by command to reduce rate. Arrived on scene and held in staging. Light fixture over heated in the area of the belfry.
Saturday, October 8
0144 Hours- Station 25 was dispatched for a flooded basement at 320 Hill Street. On arrival Chief 25 found two to three inches of water in basement with sump pump running. Pump was overwhelmed with amount of water. Waited for sump to catch up and went back in service.
Friday, October 7
1636 Hours- Stations 25 and 31 were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Constitution Avenue and Bridge Street. Both drivers signed refusals with Lackawanna 11 who was on- scene prior to Rescue and BLS arrival.
Wednesday, October 5
0449 Hours- Stations 25 and 31 were dispatched for a brush fire along US 6 westbound past Exit 3; Engine 25 and Brush 25 found pallets burning along Pumphouse Road ( US 6 Eastbound past Exit 3).
Tuesday, October 4
1729 Hours- Stations 25 and 31 were dispatched on a two-vehicle MVA with injuries on westbound US 6 near Exit 3. The incident was a one vehicle MVA with no injuries or fluids down on the deceleration ramp for Exit 2 westbound in Area 26. Area 26 command notified of situation and held his units at station. Ambulance 25-8 got one patient refusal.
1616 Hours- Ladder 20, Engines 20, 25 and 31 were dispatched for a gas grill on fire. Command held all units at station, fire was extinguished by owner.
Sunday, October 2
0648 Hours- Stations 25 and 31 dispatched on an automatic alarm at MTF, 1232 Mid-Valley Drive. Chief 25 on-scene met by employee who stated steam entered an air handling duct and set off smoke alarm. Checked area with thermal imager and only high temperature registered around heat detector above steam valve.
